The state-of-the-art Library is located on the two upper levels of the LRC. The third level houses more than 65,000 circulating books. The main level holds more than 6,000 reference books and printed indexes, 225 current periodicals plus bound back issues and microforms.

Students have access to advanced research tools for searching the joint public access catalogs of the three colleges in the San Diego Community College District via more than 200 internet-enabled computers in addition to access to a wide array of electronic periodical and reference databases. Additionally, students have access to a complete reference and circulation collection.

Library services include reference assistance, bibliographic and information competency instruction, materials checkout and check-in, course reserves, and interlibrary loan. Books belonging to Mesa College or Miramar College can be borrowed at City with a turnaround time of three days or less. Faculty reserved materials can be checked out by students at the circulation counter.

Professional librarians assist students, faculty, and staff in their use of library materials including internet searches and access to electronic databases. The librarians also offer group orientation sessions on internet search skills to students. Instructors are encouraged to schedule their classes for specialized library orientations.
